How Much Does Mobile Pet Grooming Cost in Boston?

Mobile grooming usually costs more than a self-serve dog wash and a bit more than a salon visit, because a groomer and a fully equipped van come to your home for one pet at a time. What changes the price

• The service. A Full Groom includes the haircut. A Premium Bath or Essential Bath is bath, blow dry and brush, without the haircut.
• Your dog's coat. We price dogs by coat group (standard, long, double coat, doodle and heavy double coat), because a doodle or a Bernese takes much longer than a lab.
• Size. Bigger dogs take longer, so each coat group is priced by size. For cats, the price depends on coat length.
• Where you live. We have two price zones around Boston, and your ZIP code decides which one applies.
• Booking ahead. The Advance version of the Full Groom and the Essential Bath cost less and need to be booked at least a week ahead.
• Recurring plans. Booking on a schedule with a flexible or an annual plan takes a percentage off every visit.

Extras and fees to know about

• Matted coats. Severe matting takes extra time and is added to the visit. Sometimes a short shave-down is the kindest option, and we always ask you first.
• Handling fee. Pets who are very hard to handle need extra time, which adds a handling fee.
• Protection fee and sales tax. Each visit adds a small protection fee and Massachusetts sales tax, both shown before you pay.

What a Full Groom includes

• Bath with premium shampoo, then blow dry and brush-out.

1. Book ahead. If you can plan a week out, the Advance Full Groom and the Essential Bath cost less than same-week visits.
2. Go recurring. A flexible or annual plan takes a percentage off every visit.
3. Brush at home. A few minutes of brushing a week prevents mats, so you avoid the extra time severe matting adds.
4. Tell us about your pet. Sharing your pet's temperament and coat condition when you book means the right time is set aside, with no surprises on the day.
5. Group your pets. Booking more than one pet in the same visit saves you from scheduling separate trips.
